WHO CAN BE A MENTOR?
The participants of the Mentoring Program are NVEEE’s Sr. Counselor young adults who are a part of the Peace Ambassador
Leadership Program, or PALP, as well as other professionals in the community who apply and are accepted into the program.
WHO SHOULD BE A MENTOR?
An adult mentor should be someone who puts others before themselves and wants to make a difference in people’s lives. They
are positive individuals who exhibit role model behavior and work well with others while providing real-world advice to teens. They are highly motivated and encouraging towards others. NVEEE’s adult mentors believe in being upstanders and sharing our mission with teens.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE A MENTOR?
The requirements for becoming a Mentor include: background checks, participation in the application and interview process, and mandatory quarterly trainings. As a Mentor, you must: be available to meet your mentee a minimum of twice a month in person or by phone, actively show interest in the mentee’s life and well-being and offer support and guidance, as well as have good verbal and written communication skills. Mentors are also required to supervise a minimum of two Mentee Meets.
